He quickly killed some natives and saw round bright orbs hanging from the trees. He plucked one and took a bite. Another pilgrim saw him eating it and asked what it was and with fruit in his mouth he mumbled something that sounded like "Orngege." They decided that this new color and fruit would both be called "orange" because it sounded better than "orngege."
