DR. NOAH TALL ARCHIVES - November 2002

QUESTION

11.27.02

Are there any vitamins, herbs, etc. that can help increase legcirculation and decrease pain and stiffness?
-Kaysie
ANSWER
Hmm. There are certain pain killers and, well, marijuana for the herbs, that could presumably do what you're inquiring. Although I don't advocate the latter, your doctor can prescribe certain pain killers (valium, vikadin) and so on that can do that sort of thing.

QUESTION

11.27.02

How short can a person be before they are too short?
-Captian Obvious
ANSWER
A person can be as short as they are short, but there is no shortness, or longness that could substantiate a proper length, especially when you quantify the relativity of your statement, which eludes most people who find themselves in the very definition of short. In short, there is no shortness too short lest there be a longness to long.

QUESTION

11.27.02

Dear Doctor, I regret that I have failed in questioning you sooner. If I am pardoned, and allowed to live, let me proceed. It seems that I have been left two choices, and I am in dire need of your excellent insight. I was told yesterday, by a singing blue jay, that I can be told of everything that is to happen in life; a book of what is to come. If I do not choose to accept this, I get a 48 ounce bottle of cherry coke, which I distest intensly. In not making a decision, the bird assumes I chose the latter. If life is worth the living, would I then not be really living, since I would be living vicariously through the novel? Please help me in this matter, as the blue jay has threatened to twist about the text in the book, regardless of whether or not I choose to become privy to it. And he did not mean in a positive way, I'm guessing. Adieu, and thanks muchly for sharing your wisdom.
-Amelie
ANSWER
What you fail to see, Amelie, is that even if you accept the blue jays knowledge, the book will clearly define as to whether or not you shall drink Cherry Coke within your life. Let us say, then, that you are fated to drink Cherry Coke, would it be worth ruining the experience and wonder of everything to come? But then, you have to wonder that since life is a "book" already written, or rather, your events are already designed and predestined, you'd he living a lie to believe that anything happened by chance. It'd be foolish to try, or foolish to do anything proceeding, because life is out of your control. I'd say that Blue Jay has just ruined your life.

QUESTION

11.27.02

If you are attempting to view a meteor shower at four in the morning, and cannot see most of the meteoroids because of a very bright luminous moon, what can one do to tone down or take away the light from the moon so that the wonders of the nighttime sky may be properly viewed? Thank you for you time.
-Moons should be used as lanterns for happy hunting.
ANSWER
Actually, I bet if you got onto a radio station, a popular one, and asked ALL of the people to turn off their lights for the meteor shower... if you asked JUST nice enough, God will turn his night light (the moon) off. Besides, why would you even want the moon off? You said yourself, it makes happy hunting? Do you want hunters to life a life of sadness, where they shall most likely end up killing themselves because, well, they haven't caught anything, and all because you wanted to see a Meteor shower? Well, knowing you, the answer is yes, so... *shrug* Some people, eh Dr. Dum?

QUESTION

11.27.02

will i ever be famous?
-Cristina
ANSWER
Will you be famous, you inquire? Let us look at vanity, shall we? What do you want from being famous? Do you want money? Fortune? Glamor? Do you want to be recognized? Or can being famous mean something different, something to yourself. An achievement, a goal? One you set for yourself, and to yourself, you are famous for completing. It all boils down to a simply philosophy: the philosophy of the mans' ego. Or womans', if the case may be. It's always about being something more, never content with who we are. I'm not saying that's a bad thing, I suppose. It's something I could write a hundred pages on, so here's what I shall propose to you, as my final answer. What are you willing to do to be famous?
